Step 1:

Click the "Start" button

Step 2:

Type "notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" in the search box

Step 3:

Press Enter or click the program that appears.

Step 4:

Notepad will now open and shows the hosts file.

Step 5:

You can then direct any domain at any IP address, this is done by using the following format "{destination IP} {Domain Name}" eg "192.168.0.1 example.com"

Note: www.example.com and example.com are different addresses, if you want both to point at the same IP you will need to enter 2 entries as shown in the above example.
