Accessing your E-mail through your iPhone/Android
A must for business owners is to have access to your email wherever you are. Using the iPhone and Android e-mail client, it is possible to access your servers email on the go. Follow the steps below to get access to your email anytime, anywhere.
iPhone
1. Open Settings from within the menu.
2. Proceed to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section.
3. Click on the Add Account option.
4. Select your email provider. If email is hosted on your own server you would select Other.
5. For both the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server, enter the details for your server. The Host Name will be mail.yourdomain.com. The User Name will be [email protected]. The Password will be your user password.
6. After this information has been verified, the account will be added to your email account list and you will be able to access all your email from within the Mail app.
Android
1. Open the Email app from within the app menu.
2. It will open directly to an Account Setup page, proceed with entering your full username ([email protected]) and your user password and select Next.
3. For the Account Type, most will want to select IMAP. This allows all changes made on your Android device to be reflected to your server.
4. On this next screen, make sure the IMAP Server is set to mail.yourdomain.com (It defaults to imap.yourdomain.com). Leave everything else default. Select Next.
5. Again, make sure the SMTP Server is set to mail.yourdomain.com. Again all other values can be kept default. Select Next.
6. Now you can select some settings of your choice such as notifications and sync. Select Next when you have selected the settings of your choice.
7. At this final screen, you will need to enter your name for the account. This field cannot be left blank. Select Next and your email account is now setup.
